Chester Big Band is an amateur group of people from Chester and the surrounding areas who rehearse on Wednesday evenings, 8pm – 10pm, in Handbridge, close to the centre of Chester.
The band consists of approximately 25 players, playing the following instruments: tenor saxophone, alto saxophone, baritone saxophone, trumpets, trombones, drums, bass guitar, piano/keyboard and vocals.

Chester Big Band are a group of like minded people who get together on a Wednesday evening to play music. We have over 300 songs and play a large repertoire of music from the big band era and beyond.
Rehearsals are held in Handbridge, near to the centre of Chester.
We currently have a vacancy for a trombone player. However all players are welcome – please contact us if you have an interest in playing.

St Anselm’s College Charity Event, 23rd Jan 2019:
This was a Charity Gig in support of St Anselm’s College, raising money for Sierra Leone and the school’s immersion trip there in February. We played alongside another 5 piece jazz band, a solo piano/vocal feature and a duet.
